Forefather of Kongo-ryu : Master SHINKEN TAIRA

Studied karatedo under Master Funakoshi Gichin

Studied Ryukyu kobudo under Master Yabiku Moden

Opened a dojo in Ikaho, Gunma Prefecture

Invited Master Mabuni Kenwa to Ikaho and studied under him for 6 months

Opened a dojo in Naha, Okinawa, and established the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Kenkyukai (Society for the Preservation and Research of Ryukyuan Kobudo)
1957
Taught Ryukyu kobudo at the Itosu-kai Headquarters
1961
Established the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinkokai (Society for the Preservation and Promotion of Ryukyuan Kobudo)

Published Ryukyu Kobudo Taikan (The Encyclopedia of Ryukyu Kobudo)
